Hiba Mansouri

Hiba was born in Kuwait in 1980 and fed all her childhood with Arabic classical songs from the 50 s and 60 s, growing up surrounded by the region's rich Arabic musical heritage

Her particular voice ( soft and very emotional) attracted the attention of Lebanese producer Zeid Hamdan .
They recorded some songs together, reinterpretations of songs belonging to the Arab musical tradition. One of the most successful songs is definitely Ahwak, song made famous by Lebanese singer Fairuz. In 2009, Hiba accompanied Hamdan on a tour of Lebanon and performed in Dusseldorf with a group called "The Baalbeck Project" .
In the same year she signed a contract with El Jihad Murr, the owner of MTV Lebanon. This contract involves the realization of her first EP titled "Sah el Nom". The album, for reasons unspecified, will never see the light. The tracks made, can be found here and there in compilations and film soundtracks.
Musical creations of Hiba Mansouri, considered by Zeid Hamdan as trip-hop Arabic, consists of a fusion of electronic beats, samples of old pieces Arabs and guitars upbeat features of reggae music.
Hes live performances are truly sporadic and occur mainly in Beirut, but despite this, Hiba Mansouri is a sort of icon of rest underground in the local scene and her concerts are really something that stays in the memory.

The one presented here is a collection of songs that she has made over the years, some of which should have been included in her debut album.
